My coaching business focuses on individuals, intimate and business partnerships, and teams who are eager to move to the next level in their relationships, careers and lives. Mindfulness attunes us to the choices we make. Efficiency creates our reality with elegance and ease. Spirit is the force that enlivens and motivates us into action. When the four are working together we eliminate limiting beliefs and patterned responses and move into our higher visions for our personal and professional lives. I guide my clients toward living from conscious, vision-driven intention in the midst of any external situation. Clients have ranged from corporate and nonprofit executives to artists and new mothers. They have come from organizations such as the National Association of Black Journalists, the Women's Funding Network of Arizona, the Asian and Pacific Islander Wellness Center and the YWCA of Oakland.
I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach through the Coaches Training Institute, and have completed CTI's Leadership Training Program and Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC) curriculum. I am trained to conduct Team Diagnostics assessments of working groups, which are performed in concert with ORSC coaching. I received Nigel Henry's Mastery Unleashed training, and am a member of the International Coaches Federation.
For two years I have served as Media Chair of the Black Professional Coaches Alliance. I was one of three coaches delivering a BPCA pilot program of Coaching from a Black Perspective to Executive Directors of national nonprofit organizations. I bring this background to coaching African American and other clients of color. Family counselor Aisha Kassahoun and I have developed the workshop Successful Transitions for youth moving out of foster care.
In addition to coaching skills, I have 20 years of experience in Re-Evaluation Counseling and 26 years experience in nonprofit administration, including five years as Assistant Director of Grants for the Arts and four years as Executive Director of Theater Artaud. Other talents include singing, writing and performing. I am working on a novel about the transitions experienced by my family as a result of my mother's stroke in 1999. One of my favorite places on earth is a mesa top outside of Moab, Utah, where I pilgrimage each year.
